Since 1978, BDS has expanded significantly, diversifying its services, and growing its fleet to meet the needs of various industries across Canada and the USA.
Located in Zone 2, BDS relocated their main office to Acheson from Camrose because it is strategically located within Alberta’s main transportation corridors and provides excellent access to major transportation routes and industrial hubs. This location supports their operational goals and allows them to better serve clients across Alberta and Western Canada.

They believe that in each load they take and in all their operations, they provide a quality service that you can depend on. BDS offers a wide range of services including; picker and crane services, winch truck services, heavy haul, oilfield hauling, pipe hauling, hotshot services, pilot trucking and long-haul transport. BDS is proud to be certified by COR, ISN, a member of the AMTA and a Partner in Protection!
BDS is a bonded carrier, which saves their clients time and money. Being a bonded carrier offers streamlined border crossings by allowing the transport of goods across international borders without immediate payment of duties and taxes, which are instead settled at the final destination. This status also enhances a carrier’s credibility and trustworthiness, demonstrating financial stability and compliance with regulations. Additionally, bonded carriers benefit from increased operational efficiency and reduced delays at customs, leading to faster delivery times and higher customer satisfaction.
BDS believes in supporting their operating communities in as many ways as possible. Before moving to Acheson, they were deeply entrenched in the City of Camrose, sponsoring sports teams, events, and mental health initiatives. They are very excited to do the same in this new community of Acheson and the area. We are excited to have BDS as members of the ABA and look forward to seeing them flourish in the area.
Fun Facts
The company was born in 1978 as B & D Simons Trucking when Bill Simons started from the ground up with just a single highway tractor. Now over 40 years later, BDS continues to expand, and has grown its service offerings with a more diversified and specialized fleet, operating across Canada and the US. It is amazing what a little hard work can do!
