Member Spotlight: Commodore Solutions

Commodore Solutions was founded in 2012 by Scott Courtney and Jason Schimke to provide Occupational Testing services as a fully mobile operation.

As the business grew, they expanded to include Brick and Mortar and have locations in Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort Saskatchewan. Despite this expansion, they have maintained their agility and still travel to client locations to improve efficiency for companies.

Commodore Solutions offers a comprehensive range of occupational health services. All offices have the ability to go to a client's location if required.

Their core values are Integrity, Communication, Professionalism, and Honor. These values serve as guiding principles in how they conduct their business. Scott and Jason, both raised in rural Alberta, have instilled the small-town mentality of respect and hard work into the very fabric of the company. “We are proud to work with the companies that trust us with the testing they require. We work with some really interesting companies, and it is great when they share their success with us. We get really excited about that. We have some awesome Acheson clients."

Commodore Solutions offers a comprehensive range of Occupational testing services, including Drug and Alcohol Testing, Fit for Duty assessments, Occupational Medicals, Audiometric, Mask Fit Testing, and more. In addition to these tests, they specialize in creating customized Physical Demands Analysis for each company, ensuring that their fit for duty exams accurately reflect the specific job tasks of each role within the organization.

Beyond their testing services, Commodore Solutions actively supports various community initiatives and encourages their team members to give back and volunteer in local communities. This year, their focus is on supporting Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) through the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, a foundation that only gives to Canadian Neonatal Intensive Care Units, a cause that holds personal significance to them.

Commodore Solutions joined the Acheson Business Association with the intention of connecting with like-minded individuals and businesses and they like that the ABA fosters a strong sense of collaboration and support among its members, with a shared goal of mutual success.

Fun Fact:

The name “Commodore” was chosen as a reference to the rank of a Naval Officer. This name embodies qualities such as leadership, accountability, and respect, which are core values of the company.
