Building their way to success, JEN COL has been in business for over 46 years!
Founded in 1978 in Stony Plain, Alberta, JEN COL quickly became known as Alberta’s most trusted builder of critical public and private facilities. It is a reputation they strongly built upon, and today bring their experience, skill, and reliability to a diverse range of public and private projects across Western Canada in markets that include Seniors & Healthcare, Commercial Office & Retail, Light Industrial, Indigenous Communities, Municipal Infrastructure, Emergency Services, Schools and more. With their continued growth they recently opened a regional office in Cranbrook, BC to better serve their clients in British Columbia.
Located in Zone 5, JEN COL moved their head office to Acheson in 2016 because it provided the space they were looking for to expand and Acheson’s proximity to Edmonton was a big plus for JEN COL. There are a lot of businesses in the area, which gives JEN COL opportunities to work together and learn from each other.
JEN COL exists to “Build a Better Future”, for their staff, their partners, their clients and the communities in which they work. “Build a Better Future” has less to do with construction and more to do with building lasting relationships and strengthening communities. JEN COL is passionate about working with the community on their projects, as it directly impacts them. They strive to leave the community proud of what JEN COL built and excited for the future.
Community support is more than a checkbox for JEN COL, it is the heart of who they are. They get involved with many important causes and initiatives from the Parkland Food Bank and other local charities to getting involved in the communities they build in. JEN COL runs various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives throughout the year that focus on education, waste reduction and health and wellness. These include scholarships for students interested in pursuing the construction industry, repurposing left over materials from a construction site to build something useful such as garden beds for a seniors home, and getting involved in initiatives like Movember to raise money for men’s health issues.
Being part of the Acheson Business Association allows JEN COL to actively engage with the local community and establish meaningful connections with fellow businesses. They love participating in the annual ABA golf tournament and the ABA keeps them informed on the latest happenings in the area.
Fun Facts
- They recently partnered with ABA members JAPA Equipment rentals for an office renovation project and at Wurth for their warehouse expansion.
- JEN COL’s name is a tribute to the founder’s daughters, Jennifer and Colinda.
