About
Finding solutions to connectivity, ROHL started in 1967 as a small family business based out of rural Manitoba, primarily in road construction. In the late 1980’s, the Rohl children worked together to push the business into the telecommunications industry. Staying true to their roots and family values, they worked hard and reinvested themselves to grow the company assets while becoming experts in the telecommunication field.
The tipping point was the early 2000’s, when Jason Rohl had the opportunity to become the owner of two companies: one that owned and operated a fiber optic line spanning two provinces, and one that completed the outside plant design. In 2008, Jason secured a large telecom program in the USA, which led to the creation of the American branch. ROHL Global has since expanded even further into the international firm it is today!
Located in Zone 1, ROHL Global set up their corporate headquarters in Acheson because of the great business culture and the growth of the region. They also have offices in Headingley, Manitoba, as well as Jupiter, Florida, where their American Head Office is located.
ROHL’s mission is to Connect all Canadians. If you are in a rural area, from Northern Ontario to Tuktoyaktuk, it is highly likely that ROHL built the infrastructure that provides your internet. They specialize in long-haul, remote builds, in the toughest terrain in Canada. ROHL Global is currently looking to the end of the Dempster Fiber Line build, which is the final segment of the Northern Canadian Fiber Loop that spans 800 km from Dawson City, YT to Inuvik, NWT, and its completion will give Northern Canadian residents they need to stay connected!
ROHL Global believes in supporting local communities and since 2008, has collaborated with First Nations communities across North America to enhance their access to vital services such as eHealth and eEducation. This has been shown through the creation of education (ROHL Mentorship Program) and employment opportunities throughout the proposed project's life and in the years following. ROHL takes pride in having supported over 50 of these communities, laying hundreds of kilometers of fiber optic cable, thereby connecting them to hospitals, schools, and fostering inter community links. ROHL strives to ensure the results are Community driven and Community operated.
ROHL Global offers turnkey telecommunications deployment, from conception, to design, through to construction and turn up, with the option for long-term maintenance. With a record of accomplishment throughout North America, ROHL Global has built a reputation for excellence in utility installations. We are so happy to have them as members of the ABA and Acheson!
Fun Fact:
ROHL Global owns and operates more than 1200km of fiber optic network, and offers dark fiber, layer 1 and layer 2 services throughout their subsidiary ROHL Gateway Fiber. No other telecom contractor owns and operates a fiber optic line! Because of this, ROHL Global has thorough knowledge and insight firsthand into what it takes to operate and maintain fiber optic networks. Their fiber optic networks are located from Acheson to Ft. St John, BC, and Valleyview to High Level AB.
